Trainings And Workshops

I am excited to announce the next online course entitled

“Embracing Your Shadow To Express Your Light.”

Participants will be invited on a 4-week journey of experiential discovery, all about understanding, befriending and working with our shadow, the disowned and unknown parts of ourselves, so that we can embody wholeness and offer expression of our deepest truth.

We all contain different aspects of ourselves.

There are parts of us that we like and approve of, and there are parts we dislike and judge, even to the point of keeping them out of our full awareness, and out of other’s view, because they feel so unacceptable.

The Shadow (a term coined by the famous psychiatrist Carl Jung) is our unconscious, and includes the unknown, rejected or disdained parts of us such as anger, greed, lust, selfishness, rage, fear, childishness, and so on. What is unknown and unaccepted within us, what we fail to own in ourselves, often tends to be projected onto others. Since we feel we cannot hold space for being “bad, or unacceptable”, we then take those feelings and project those out onto others or the world, and see them as bad and unacceptable.

The tendency to keep these aspects of ourselves separate means that we are dividing ourselves up. While we are struggling with the separate “bad” and “unlovable aspects” of our inner world, we are often judging others harshly who indulge in this behavior.

This creates internal (psychological) and external (relationships) divisions. This entire process creates and maintains more struggle, more self-loathing, and more conflict.

However, we can transform our relationship to our shadow and not only find relief and an increased sense of wholeness, but we also can find an increased ability to offer compassion and understanding to ourselves and the world.

This practice opens and expands our hearts toward us and all others.

In this four-week online course we will dive deep into understanding what our shadow is, how to explore it, and most importantly, how to transform our relationship to these shadow aspects of ourselves. Each 90-minute class will be a mix of didactic and experiential work, and include guided exercises and meditations. Ample time will be allotted for questions and chances to work deeper. There will also be a supplemental guided exercise to be practiced between each session to more deeply cultivate our leaning into and befriending our shadow.

If you can’t make a course session live, all sessions and supplemental exercises will be recorded so that you can watch or rewatch at your leisure.
